3Good value, great product - when it works...  Nov 28, 2008
This speakerphone has great features: a large display which shows the number of the incoming call; recent call lists (short but functional) which you can use for dialing; cordless operation; and most importantly, pretty good sound quality for a vehicle speakerphone.

I like the visor mount. It puts the display and microphone close to your face, which works great (although the mic picks up passengers pretty well, too). The speaker is plenty loud. It automatically adjusts mic and speaker levels for your environment, although doesn't work well with windows open even a bit. My unit linked up easily with my Motorola phone. Unfortunately the unit neither powers on nor links up quickly enough to establish a link when a call comes in (unlike my Moto headset, which powers up and links up within a few seconds). But if you keep it on while driving, it does fine.

My only major complaint is that this unit works great, only when it works at all. It seems to be prone to powering off at random. At first, I thought the battery was low. But the battery indicator never showed low, and the unit continues to work for many hours, even when it starts shutting down randomly. Other times, it works great for long periods without problems. Maybe I just have a marginal unit - but that itself speaks to VR3's design and/or manufacturing quality.

Other than the possible power-off problems, I'd definitely recommend this unit to anyone who doesn't like the idea of wearing a headset in the car.

4Works for me - I bought three!!  Nov 15, 2008
I bought one for me. I liked it. Bought one for my wife. She went nuts for it. Bought a third for a X-mas and the recipient LOVED it.(He is an amputee). Costco had these for less than $100 at first. Week before X-mas they were on sale for $39.

4Hard to beat this for the price.  Nov 02, 2008
I picked one of these up the other day. I wanted a safer way to talk on the phone while driving, but I hate having anything in my ear, so a normal headset was out. But then I found this item, and thought for that price, if it works it's a steal. I was very impressed with the ease of the setup and installation. It paired with my Sony Ericsson 580i with no problem, and I was able to place and receive calls within a minute of having it out of the box.

As a few of the reviews have said, the sound quality isn't the greatest, but it's good enough compared to a lot of other speakphone type devices. For $50, this is a great deal for a hands free device that you don't have to have crammed in your ear.

4good products  Oct 31, 2008
I bought this Bluetooth car kit-VR3 2wks ago from Costco for $29.99. I enjoy using it. I've called almost every body on my phone list. It is clear, loud and easy pairing. I have 2 treo 650/Centro. It is responsive, ez pick up, decent battery life-standby 5 days. I read so many goods and bads feedback on many Bt-car kit and they are pretty much the same kinds-not loud enough, too static, etc.. Since Costco has the good return policy and I fed up with the damned ear bluetooth(I've 3), I decided to take a chance. And it works well! I would recommend it to try. Nothing is perfect in this world. Just Try!
CON:Caller ID is not understandable, no music playback, no linking to FM

2Ok performance. No Customer Service  Sep 04, 2008
I bought this item from my local Costco and it worked reasonably well the first couple of weeks then I started experiencing unexplained power-off's. This happens regardless of duration or battery level. Sometimes it will power off after a few minutes and other times it will power off after half an hour and sometimes it stays on for a while. This problem happens around 80% of the time I use the device. I could not get any response from the manufacturer and I unfortunately lost the original receipt. Even though they say to not return the product, don't listen to it. Take/send it back to the store you bought it from.

Other comments have been pretty much echoed by other reviewers, i.e. quiet, difficult to see display, not very user friendly. I can't imagine how they won the CES award.
