4It does everything I want it to do, with a few limitations.  Jul 28, 2008
I've only had this case a few days so I don't know about durability yet, although I haven't seen any signs of wear and the seams look solid.

Unlike a previous reviewer, I don't find that the case slides around at all with my iPhone 3G. The case is slim and fits very snugly, to the point where it's difficult to take it on and off if you're not practiced. A tip is to slide something between the iPhone screen and the case when sliding the iPhone in and out so it doesn't stick to the screen.

If you want to insert and remove your phone frequently you probably don't want this case.

I haven't used it for running yet but I put it on and it seems very comfortable. However, if you only want it for running I'd get a case that lets you slide the iPhone in and out more easily.

You can peel back the mesh over the bottom to plug an iPhone cable in without removing the case. That's how they intend you to do it, and it works fine it's just a little awkward at first with how the mesh is sewn on. If you have a car or home dock that physically holds the phone (more than just plugging in a cable) it likely won't fit in there with the case on unless you decide to cut off the mesh bottom, which may be an option since the phone should stay in the case just fine with the bottom mesh cut off.

The external buttons are covered, but that only poses a problem if you toggle the silent/ring button, in which case you have to dig in with your nail a little bit to toggle the switch. I've done this without damaging the case several times but I'm wary that doing this repeatedly may tear the fabric (although it seems very flexible and resilient). I'm considering cutting this button out on the case but have not done so yet. I don't think they intend for you to do this, though.

If you're not careful to avoid specks of dirt/dust getting inside your case before you put the iPhone in, you're going to get small bubbles when the case sticks to the screen (which you'll want to happen for better contact and touchscreen responsiveness). Once you run your finger back and forth or use a credit card to get the plastic of the case to stick to your phone the touchscreen responsiveness is good.

The edges of the case slightly hinder your ability to type the "backspace", "p" and "q" keys in portrait keyboard mode depending on your thumb size but it's not too bad.

The sound comes through the holes on phone calls and the mesh with the external speakers just fine.

I didn't want a hard case because I didn't want it to be too bulky. If you want a slim, soft case you'll leave on 90% of the time to protect your iPhone 3G from damage in typical use and keep out moisture, while not detracting much from usability, then this fits the bill.

1Do NOT buy--very poorly designed  Jul 13, 2008
I bought the latest version, the Sportsuit Convertible iPhone 3G for my new 3G iPhone. The clear plastic screen protector does not sit flush against the screen, so it really affects touchscreen usability/responsiveness. The neoprene/pleather case slides around, and it obscures the buttons (despite outlines to show you where the buttons lie underneath) and covers the synch jack. Aesthetically, the case ugly and masks the design of the iPhone. The belt clip is uncomfortable (no swivel), not to mention dorky. The armband is perhaps the only well-conceived aspect of this case. All-in-all, this case is a failure, unless the armband trumps all else for you. I'm returning mine and looking at the Contour, Agent 18 and DLO clear cases. BTW, unless you are extremely clumsy and drop the iPhone on uneven/rocky surfaces, you probably don't need screen protection--just get an open-faced case.
