Falls off Belt & Thin Clip Which Easily Broke Oct 28, 2008 When I bought this from my AT&T store it seemed very thin and cheep compared to clips for my previous Treo. The first thing I noticed is that it didn't want to stay on my belt. If I bumped it or sat wrong it was sure to come off. After with standing it for 2 weeks it finally broke at the hinge. I am now buying a new one.
Suicide for iPhone 3G Oct 27, 2008 The belt clip is not secure. This case quickly, easily, and unexpectedly falls off the belt of the wearer. Other than that, it's fine. Unfortunately, the reason for having a belt case is to HOLD the phone SECURELY to the wearer's belt! Apparently Griffin does not test its products before selling them.

STAY AWAY - your iPhone will suffer Aug 17, 2008 My Griffin Elan Clip failed after four days. It dropped off of my belt, shattering the screen on my iPhone 3G. I had to buy a new iPhone. This unit is the worst.

Holds iPhone securely, but doesn't stay on belt Jul 26, 2008 I bought this product at my local Apple store a few days ago. Right away I noticed that while my iPhone was held very securely by the case, the belt clip did not stay securely latched to my belt when the phone was vertical and I was sitting. It would be very easy to have the phone slip off and fall to the ground.
Rotating the clip so the phone is horizontal works better, but it still doesn't stay securely on the belt. Removing the phone requires two hands, one to hold the belt clip and the other to hold the iPhone. You can't just move the end clip on the case with your thumb and slide the iPhone out, or you'll end up pulling the whole case off your belt.
Even worse for this is how little it protects the iPhone from accidental drops. Just last night I was startled by something as I was going into my house, and my hand slapped against my iPhone in the clip and the whole thing flew off my belt and came crashing to the ground. Thankfully, the iPhone was inserted with the screen facing in and there was no damage after the fall. The case held up (although the bottom corners are now both cracked), and the back of the iPhone was scratch-free. But imagine if I'd been bumped hard by someone, or (worse) a pickpocket decided to try and boost my iPhone off me.
This is not a belt clip case I'm recommending to anyone to adequately secure their iPhone to themselves. Griffin needs to redesign this so the belt clip's bottom has the standard loop and can securely hook on to a belt. I'll be bringing this back to my Apple Store for a refund.
